Required
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in library science or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in library science, two (2) years of which shall have been in an oversight or supervisory role.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Knowledge of the theory, practices, and resources associated with the field of library science and its administration.
  • Knowledge of related laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Skill in technology used in libraries and library support services.
  • Skill in personnel, financial, and administrative management.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and supervise programs and personnel.
  • Ability to plan and lead professional development activities.
  • Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships across the Division.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Master's degree.
  • State certification.
